Derbyshire locals invited to hear about promising plans

27th October 2016

Local people in Baslow, Derbyshire are being invited to hear all about our plans to renew the water pipes in the area.

The town in Bakewell will receive around half a mile of new pipes to improve the water network and the company are holding a drop in session to discuss the £120,000 investment.

Severn Trent programme engineer John Spingett says: “We’re really looking forward to meeting the local people in Baslow and explaining why this work is so vital to them.  It’s also a chance for us to hear their feedback and get any hints or tips regarding working in Baslow, as after all, the locals are the ones who know their area best.”

The drop in session will be held on Tuesday 1 November 2016 at the Village Hall, Church Lane, Baslow, DE45 1SR from 2pm to 6pm where the team from Severn Trent and their contract partners, Laing O’Rourke will be on hand to answer and questions.

“We’d like to meet as many of the local people as possible so we’d encourage everyone to come along.  We’re aiming to start work on the 15 November and our priority will be to make sure there’s as little disruption as possible, so the drop in session is a great way for us to get information on how we can all work together on making sure Baslow can continue to receive a good quality, reliable water supply.”
