Can I pay through my Benefits?

If you’re in receipt of benefits you can pay your water bill straight from them through the Water Direct scheme.

Make an application now or call us on 03456 022 777. Paying this way means you don't have to remember to pay us, as the Department for Work and Pensions will organise for deductions to be made from your benefits and credited to your Severn Trent account.

If you get Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment Support Allowance, Universal Credit or Pension Credit then you may be eligible for the scheme.

The amount deducted will cover the current year's charges, plus £3.70 per week towards arrears. This will be the lowest payment we will accept towards any balance. We will not take any action with you to recover payment whilst you remain on the scheme.

If you receive benefits and have a medical condition that means you use more water, or have three or more children under the age of 19, you may be able to get your charges capped with our WaterSure scheme.
