Wonderful on Tap

We want to make sure we all have plenty of our wonderful water - today, tomorrow and in the years to come.

That's why we've started our Green Recovery Programme. Green Recovery is a range of exciting projects that will run up to March 2025, updating our water networks, making our region an even better businesses to thrive, and using the latest technology to give back to our communities.

One of the things we’re doing right now is helping 3,000 businesses across Leicester, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and Staffordshire to become more sustainable, save water and reduce bills.

It’s our water, together, let’s do right by it.

Supporting local businesses

We can help with rising energy bills

The last few years have been tough on local businesses, and with the rising cost of living, we want to help. That’s why we’re offering local businesses free water audits and water saving solutions to help detect and resolve issues that could be costing you money – such as a leaky loo or dripping tap.

Your leaky loo, tap and shower could be costing you – here is how we can help

A dripping tap might not sound like a big deal, however did you know that a leaky loo can actually waste up to 400 litres of water every day! That’s the equivalent of 700 pints of water, or five full bathtubs. This means you could be wasting money on drinking water that you’re not actually using.

That is why here at Severn Trent we want to help, all you need to do is follow this link and upload a video of your leaking loo, tap or shower by using your smart phone. One of our specially trained technicians will have a look and get in touch about next steps and let you know if we can fix your leak for free.

Free support for your business

Whether sustainability is at the heart of everything you do, or you’re simply looking to cut back on costs, we’re here to help.

As part of our audit, we’ll monitor your business’s current water usage and provide personalised water saving advice, tailored to your business. We’ll fit water saving devices, replace any old fixtures and fittings, and identify opportunities to fix leaks – and we’ll do it for free.

Why we are doing it

We all like to be a little greener. And we all like our budgets to go a little further. By supporting local businesses, we’re helping you to do both.

How it works

To help improve your business’s water efficiency, we will take the following steps. The solutions and advice given will be personalised to your business needs.

To understand how water-efficient your business is, our team will complete an audit and install a water logger to measure your water usage if required.

This will help us to:

  • Measure the flow of all fixtures and fittings such as taps and showers
  • Check what assets are currently in place to see if we could upgrade them
  • Identify potential water saving improvements
  • Identify leaks on all fixtures and fittings
  • Recommend water saving actions and solutions

At this stage, we might find that your business is already water efficient. Don’t worry, we can still support with handy tips and tricks to improve your business even further!

Once the audit is complete, we will complete any work to improve your water efficiency. This could include:

  • Install new urinal control units (or fixing the ones you’ve got)
  • Replacing your taps with modern self-closing push taps
  • Service your existing taps
  • Install cistern displacement devices to reduce flush volumes
  • Convert existing cisterns into dual flush cisterns
  • Provide personalised tips and tricks to help you save water

It’s time to remove your water logger! Using clever data, we’ll let you know how much water and money you’ve saved since our visit. It’s that easy.

We’ll share a personalised report with tips and tricks to help your business to continue to save water, money and the planet for years to come.

Now, it’s time to focus on what matters to you and your business – and not your water bills!

Areas we are supporting

We're supporting 3,000 businesses, big and small, across Leicester, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, and Staffordshire

If you've upgraded your water fittings in the last two years, you're probably already water efficient. If this is the case, we won't be able to upgrade your water fittings right now. But there are lots of tips and tricks on how to save water on our website to help you keep costs down.
