There are many way you can pay your bill. You can choose the payment method that best suits your needs, from a range of payment options.
How you can pay your bill
If you're a non-Direct Debit customer, you can pay your bill using the Barclays PingIt app on your smartphone.
You just need to download the PingIt app and scan the QR code on your bill to make a payment.
You can pay by Direct Debit quickly and easily. It’s the most convenient way to make sure your bill is always paid in full and on time. You choose the date, frequency and the amount you pay, and payment is sent to us each time without you having to do anything else.
You can set up and manage your payments using your bank’s telephone, online or remote banking services.
Simply provide them with the following information:
- Our bank sort code: 20-00-00
- Our bank account number: 23285790
- Your Severn Trent Water account number (you’ll find this on your paperwork)
If you receive Income Support, Jobseeker's Allowance, Employment Support Allowance (ESA), Pension Credit or Universal Credit, you can apply for Water Direct.
Water Direct is a scheme operated by the Job Centre Plus.
In some cases they are able to arrange for your water bill to be automatically paid out of your benefits.
Pay in person
PayPoint stores, often newsagents and other similar high street shops, make up a network of over 28,000 locations across the UK where you pay utilities bills.
You can also pay at a PayPoint store using a payment booklet.
If you would prefer to pay over the counter at your bank or building society, don’t forget to take your bill with you.
This service is free at most banks, however we recommend you always check first.
You can take your bill, along with your preferred payment method of cash, cheque or card, to any Post Office branch and make a payment.
The Post Office may charge you for this service.
Pay by post or phone
If you receive paper bills, your bill will arrive with a payment slip attached.
To pay by post, enter the amount you’d like to pay on your payment slip and write a cheque for that amount.
Cheques should be made payable to Severn Trent Water Ltd, and you will need to write your Severn Trent Water account number on the back of the cheque.

You must allow up to four working days for cheque payments to reach our account.
