Thursday 26th August 2021

Midland Land Portfolio Limited (MLPL), the property development arm of Severn Trent, has recently sold a site in Gedling, Nottinghamshire with planning permission for 120 new homes.

The new development, that will be delivered by Miller Homes will bring big community benefits.

As well as ensuring that the new homes will be water efficient and not exceed a water consumption efficiency target of 110 litres per person per household, the 10 acre site will also provide affordable housing and new community spaces.

The sale will also see financial contributions towards primary school provisions, library and health facilities as well as bus stop enhancements to improve local transport links.

Adam Tustain, Senior Development Surveyor at Severn Trent said: “Keeping the community at the heart of what we do is always important to us and we’re really excited about the potential Miller Homes will bring.

“It’s really important to us that whenever we make any sale like this, that we know it’s going to positively impact the community in some way, and we know that this sale will really make a difference to those living in Gedling.

“As well as making sure each new home is water efficient, this new development will bring lots of benefits to local facilities, transport links, and provide much needed affordable and market homes for families.”

Midlands Land Portfolio Limited supports the company when it comes to selling unused areas of land to help keep the company efficient, and provide land to be repurposed for communities.“Not only does this bring big community benefits, but we’re making our business more efficient, as we’re able to free up land to help create this development.,” adds Adam.

“We are proud to be using our redundant land assets to provide local services, homes and improvements for the communities we serve. It’s a really exciting project, and we’re looking forward to seeing the development come to life through this sale.”
