Hear about work to prevent smells in Ashbourne

We are inviting local people in Ashbourne to hear about our plans to deal with an odour issue.

Zelia Lockett, waste team manager for Derbyshire, comments: “We know that there have been some issues with smells in the Ashborne area and we want to do everything we can to deal with that.  We’ve been working with the local people for a while now and recently we’ve been carrying out some surveys.  We now want to talk to local people about our plans going forwards and get their buy in to what we’re doing.

“We’re encouraging local people to come along to a drop-in session to hear about the plans. We’ll be at Elim Pentecostal Church, The Waterside Centre, Waterside Road, DE6 1DG on Wednesday 28 February between 6:30pm and 7:30pm.  Everyone is welcome to pop by to meet the team and get an update on what’s happening.”

Zelia adds: “We’d really like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while we carry out this survey and pull together our plans.  We know that smells around your home and place of work aren’t nice and we’re determined to what we can to solve this issue.”
