Data logging
A data logger is a smart technology device that is attached to our meters, allowing you to temporarily monitor your businesses consumption at regular intervals. Benefits include:
If we have our own data logger connected to a meter, we can provide you with the data once your application is approved.
If you wish to connect any monitoring equipment to a Severn Trent Water meter, an application must be made for a data logging cable to be fitted.
A data logging cable may also be known as a pulsed output, pulsed connection, splitter or repeater. Once your data logging cable has been fitted you can connect this to a data logger, building management system, secondary dosing system or an out-reader.
Meter exchanges and upgrades
If your meter is faulty, meter exchange requests are free of charge if a fault is found.
However, if you’re requesting a new meter to upgrade its type or size, there will be a charge. You can find details in our Charges Policy.
If you’ve encountered a damaged or leaking meter, please inform us using our Meter Exchange Request Form. For upgrades to meter type or size, you can also submit a request through the same form.
