General information

A little bit about Linacre

  • Historically the three reservoirs supplied water to the nearby town of Chesterfield.
  • However, they became non-operational in 1995 and today they’re managed for visitors and wildlife and provide a popular local amenity.
  • Nuthatches, flycatchers and woodpeckers can be seen and heard as they flit among the canopy. Kingfishers and mandarin ducks can be spotted around the waters edge.
