Parking at Carsington

Our automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system captures vehicle registration numbers on entry to the Carsington Water car parks.

Paying for parking

Pay on exit: Pay when you're ready to leave by entering your vehicle registration number at the payment terminal, online or via the Trust app.

Pay later: Pay online or via the Trust app with in 24 hours of leaving.

Download the Trust App.

Please remember to pay: Unpaid parking will result in a parking charge notice issued by Group Nexus.

Open every day (except Christmas Day).
Motorcyclists are required to pay for parking and are charged £2.

Previously, we haven't charged motorbikes for parking as they had nowhere to display a ticket. With the introduction of our ticketless (ANPR) system, we are now asking motorcyclists to pay to ensure fairness to all, as motorcyclists benefit from the same onsite amenities as everyone else.

We have kept the charges low to keep it fair, so you'll just pay a flat fee of £2 no matter how long you stay.

As long as your car registration details are up to date you don’t need to do anything - unless you already use the Trust payment app. If you are already registered with the Trust payment app you will need to make sure automatic payments are turned off when you visit Carsington Water.

If you have updated your car since becoming a member then please call the Carsington team on 0330 6780 701 to change your details.

Parking charges apply for blue badge holders on sites.

We have worked really hard to make our sites as accessible as possible with things like improved paths, changing places toilets, and new accessible play equipment.

You can find out more about our site's accessibility by visiting our Accessibility Guide page or Sencory Guide page.

Trampers (mobility scooters suitable for the site)

We have trampers available to use for 2 hours for free, these are on a first come, first served basis. Please ask at Reception if you would like to use one.

Parking charge notice

Paying a parking charge notice

All of the details on how to pay the parking charge notice and appeal are in the original PCN letter you will have received.

The easiest way to pay the parking charge notice is via their website:

There is also an option to pay the fine via post (please be aware paying by cheque has an additional cost)

PCNs cannot be appealed by phone, all appeals must be received in writing as per the British Parking Association guidelines, this is so there is a record of all correspondence. You can find out more on the Nexus website.

We want to improve the experience for our visitors and to better manage the car parks. We know that most of our customers will pay for their parking. However, there are some customers who don’t pay. The money from car parking goes towards the costs of running the site so it is important that everyone who visits helps to contribute to the upkeep of Carsington Water.

The new ANPR system will improve people’s experience as it allows people to pay at the end of their visit in lots of different ways (card, cash, online or via the app).

We won’t make money from the enforcement process, the initial parking charge notice just covers administrative costs and the amount lost in car park revenue.

Check that you're putting the correct details in.

  • You may be putting in an 0 instead of an O or vice versa.
  • All references start with a '2' and then 4'0's (zeros), if yours doesn’t start like this then you are using the wrong reference from the letter.

If you are still experiencing issues when attempting to input your details, please email appeal@appealpcn.co.uk with your full name, address and vehicle registration details.

Group Nexus manage a large amount of car parks so they have a large amount of customers contacting them. PCNs cannot be appealed by phone, all appeals must be received in writing as per the British Parking Association guidelines, this is so there is a record of all correspondence.

The phone number is a premium number so this may be blocked on your phone, the phone also only works during office times, the times are on their website (currently 10am to 4pm).

If you are a permit holder and have received a PCN then the front desk team at Carsington will be able to assist you as they can check the status of your membership. To contact the Carsington team please call them on 0330 6780 701. For all other appeals please follow the correct appeal process as laid out in your letter.
