Start saving on a water meter

Tenants

If you are a tenant with an agreement over a 6-month period, you do not need to gain permission from your landlord to have a water meter installed.

However, we would recommend you notify them.

If your lease is for less than 6 months, you must get written permission from your landlord.

Applying for someone else

If you look after somebody who needs extra support, you can apply for a meter for them.

The account holder needs to give consent for any changes to be made to their account. If they are unable to give consent, we can arrange to speak to another person with lasting power of attorney.

Contact us if you have lasting power of attorney. You can also find out how to make, register or end lasting power of attorney on the UK Government website.
