Worcester Growth

Worcestershire

We’re investing in Worcester's future

We are installing new water pipes in the Worcester area as we recognise that we need to upgrade parts of our water network. The work is planned to begin in April 2025, and we’ll be completing the work in phases. To limit disruption, we’ll be carrying out phase 2 and phase 3 at the same time, with most of the works being completed in the summer holidays. To ensure we carry out each phase quickly and safely we’ll be working under various traffic management systems.

Phase one: We'll start work on Oldbury Road. This phase of the works will be carried out under road closures for approximately 15 weeks.

Section 1: The first section of the work will be completed under a road closure. We’ll be working on Oldbury Road from the junction of Newbury Road, up to the junction of Solitaire Avenue. This road closure will be in place from 7 April 2025 for approximately six weeks. A signposted diversion route will be in place.

Section 2: We’ll be working on Oldbury Road under a road closure, with junction closures on Solitaire Avenue and Comer Gardens. This section of the work will be in place from 12 May 2025 for approximately three weeks. Signposted diversion routes will be in place during this section of work.

Section 3: The final section of work will be carried out on Oldbury Road from the junction of Solitaire Avenue up to the junction of Woodstock Road. This section of works will again be carried out under a road closure. The road closure will be in place from 26 May 2025 for approximately eight weeks. A signposted diversion route will be in place.

Phase two: We'll be working on Himbleton Road down to Henwick Road. This phase of the works will be carried out under a road closure and multi-way traffic lights for approximately 13 weeks.

Phase three: We’ll be working on Tudor Way and on the A44 Bromyard Road. This phase of the works will be carried out under road closures and multi-way traffic lights for approximately 13 weeks.

Section 1: The first section of the work will be completed under three-way traffic lights. We'll be working in the A44 Bromyard Road along to the junction of Tudor Way. The traffic lights will be in place from 21 July 2025 for approximately three weeks.

Section 2: We'll be working from the bottom of Tudor Way up to the roundabout of Burleigh Road under a road closure. A signposted diversion route will be in place. Vehicle access will be maintained for residents living within this section of the road closure. This work will be in place from 21 July 2025 for approximately six weeks.

Section 3: This section of work will be completed under three-way traffic lights. We’ll continue working up Tudor Way and across the roundabout. The traffic lights will be in place from 25 August 2025 for approximately two weeks.

Section 4: The final section of work will be carried out in Tudor Way from the roundabout of Burleigh Road up to the junction of Oldbury Road. This section of works will be carried out under a road closure. A signposted diversion route will be in place. Vehicle access will be maintained for residents living within this section of the road closure. The road closure will be in place from 1 September 2025 for approximately seven weeks.

Phase four: This will be the final phase, and works will be carried out on Oldbury Road. This phase is currently not planned, so we will provide further information in the future.

Although it’s really important, we also know work on this scale can, at times, be inconvenient. Please rest assured that we, and our contract partner Avove, will be doing everything to minimise the disruption.
