A whole new era of water
The city of Worcester – and the many villages and towns around it - is growing. And we’re growing with it. If you live in the area, you’re going to be getting important upgrades to the water and wastewater networks that serve you and your family.
Over the next few months, we're renewing mains pipes, putting in services for new homes, and upgrading your local sewage treatment works. Read on to see more.
Listen to our podcast on Radio Wyvern
Gareth Mead, Head of River Rangers, and Community Communications Manager Laura Holloway joined Radio Wyvern to talk through the three major water and wastewater projects underway in Worcestershire.
They share why these upgrades are so important, the big benefits they’ll bring for local customers and the environment, and how we’ve been working closely with the community to help keep disruption to a minimum.
Where we'll be starting work
What to expect during the work
For the mains pipe renewal we’re going to need to dig under a number of roads in the area, and we know this is going to be disruptive to many local people.
We’re really sorry about this – there really is no other way to do it – and we’re grateful to you for your patience for the months while we’re here.
How we’ll support you and your neighbours:

Here's what you'll see in Worcestershire
You told us what matters most to you. A reliable water supply that’s fit for the future. Making sure we protect the River Severn. And being able to keep pace with new housing.
So that’s what we’re doing in your area, with real improvements and new infrastructure, so Worcestershire is ready - for today’s communities and the families that will call it home for decades to come.
Here’s what you’ll see us doing:
Protecting the River Severn
If you live here, or even if you’re just visiting, you’ll know the Severn plays a big part in local life. Whether you’re a river user, an angler, swimmer, paddler or just enjoy being on the banks, the Severn is precious to you.
The works we’re doing, especially to Worcester Sewage Treatment Works, are going to help the both the river and the wildlife that calls it home. It matters to you, and it matters to us too.
We’ll give updates when the works begin, but if you want to know what we’re doing to protect rivers and streams in the meantime, our Get River Positive pages are a great place to start.
Got a question?
We’d love to hear from you (after all, we’re going to be almost neighbours for a while).
