Trimpley Lagoon De-sludge
Worcestershire
Our Commitment to Cleaner, Healthier Rivers
At Severn Trent, we believe clean, healthy rivers and waterways are essential—for people, wildlife, and the environment. We know this matters to you too.
We’ve set ambitious plans across our region to:
- Improve water treatment to reduce and remove pollution
- Enhance water quality for the benefit of nature and communities
- Prepare for the future, supporting population growth sustainably
So, we’re maintaining our Water Treatment Network at Trimpley. In January, we’re commencing work to remove sludge from the Lagoon near Trimpley Reservoir which forms part of our Water Treatment Network. The sludge will be redistributed to fields and farmlands nearby. These fields have been carefully sampled to ensure the nutrients from the sludge can help restore soil health and encourage crop growth.
When and where we’ll be working
Work will start early January 2026 and will take around five months to complete. You may notice an increased volume of construction traffic in the area. We have taken steps to minimise disruption by selecting fields close to the lagoon for sludge distribution.
