Cross Lane Head
Bridgnorth, Shropshire
We’re investing in Bridgnorth's future
As part of a major upgrade to the water network across Shropshire, we’ll be replacing old water pipes with new ones over the next few years, starting in January 2026. This essential work, totalling 3.5km is part of our huge investment in the region to reduce the risk of leaks and bursts, improve reliability, and ensure your supply of wonderful water stays strong for generations to come.
We know there’s a lot happening across Shropshire right now and this is one of several big infrastructure projects in the area. Over the next few years, we will be investing and upgrading in other areas in the county so we will be working closely with local partners to keep disruption to a minimum while we carry out this vital work.
Work will take place in phases, we’ll begin outside the property known as The Croft to outside the property known as Oakland, from Monday 5 January 2026. This phase will take approximately 8 weeks*. During this phase, there will be a road closure in operation. Please see the map overleaf for the working area.
Once this phase of work is complete, we will move from the highway onto private land. Before we return to the highway, I will write to you with an update in the Springtime. We expect all scheduled works to be finished by Summer 2026.
Please be aware that although we try to stick to these dates, they may change due to circumstances beyond our control.
