Cleobury Mortimer

Shropshire

We’re investing in Cleobury Mortimer’s future

As part of a major upgrade to the water network across Shropshire, we’ll be replacing old water pipes in Cleobury Mortimer with new ones over the next few years, starting next month. This essential work, totalling 20km, is part of our huge investment in the region to reduce the risk of leaks and bursts, improve reliability, and ensure your supply of wonderful water stays strong for generations to come.

We know there’s a lot happening across Shropshire right now and this is one of several big infrastructure projects in the area. Over the next few years, we will be investing and upgrading in other areas in the county so we will be working closely with local partners to keep disruption to a minimum while we carry out this vital work.

You may have noticed we have started working on private land off Tenbury Road, Cleobury Mortimer.

Following the completion of these works, work will begin on Tenbury Road itself from Monday 23 March 2026. We anticipate that these works will take approximately 2 weeks to complete and during this time, three-way traffic lights will be in operation.

We are aiming to begin work just North of Keady Orchards to the top of Boraston Lane, SY8 3AY from Tuesday 5 May 2026. We anticipate that these works will take approximately 7 weeks to complete and during this time, a road closure will be in place.

We are planning to start work on Monday 22 June from the Bowerswood Junction, West of Boraston, to the Peacock Inn Junction with the A456. We anticipate that these works will take approximately 10 weeks to complete and during this time, a road closure will be in place.
