We’re investing in Staffordshire's future
The new water main will be installed in Whitethorn Way and Birch House Road, Chesterton, Newcastle-under-Lyme. We plan to start in Whitethorn Way from its junction with Crackley Bank and work towards its junction with Birch House Road and then we will progress along Birch House Road to its junction with Alder Grove. To enable us to carry out this work quickly and safely, we’ll have two consecutive road closures in place on Whitethorn Way and Birch House Road and as we cross the junction of these roads we will have three-way traffic lights in place, this is to ensure your safety and the safety of our workforce.
Within the road closures we will be working in small sections as we progress along the road and will always keep access to properties within the closures, including access for emergency services, but access will be from one side or the other of the working area. There will be no through road access and there will be signposted diversion routes in place. You may wish to allow extra time for your journey. As we progress along the road we will be putting out ‘No parking’ cones out on the next section we plan to lay the new water main. We would appreciate your cooperation by not parking in this area so we can complete the work as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. The plan and table overleaf show the approximate location, timescale and traffic management.
