Purpose of the work
The purpose of this project is to refurbish an existing rising main as part of efforts to improve the resilience and efficiency of the wastewater infrastructure between Littlewoods Pumping Station and Goscote Treatment Works.
The rising main is being upgraded to reduce the risk of bursts and failures, which will help minimise pollution incidents, improve service reliability, and ultimately enhance environmental protection. These works form part of a broader package of improvements across the network to support long-term sustainability and operational performance.
Description of works
• Construction of 1230m new rising main
• Relining of 265m of existing rising main
• Refurbishment of existing pumping station
