Brancote

Staffordshire

We’re investing in Brancote's future

Brancote Sewage Treatment Works is a large Works serving a population of approximately 73,000. The site has two independent process streams; one was built in 1953 and is commonly referred to as the “Old works”, and the other was built in 1973 and is referred to as the “New works”. We’re investing £53 million to improve the sewage treatment works located in Brancote, Stafford. The site has served the community for many years, collecting and recycling wastewater from homes and businesses, but now needs some improvements.
These improvements will extend the lifespan of the site and prepare us for a changing climate, increasing demand and protect the health of local rivers.

Work on the Brancote STW site will begin late summer 2025.

We will soon start setting up the site in preparation for the upcoming construction works. These initial activities are essential to ensure a smooth and efficient start to the main construction phase.

Startup activities include:

• Set up a temporary compound on site to provide clean and safe facilities for the team

• Connecting power supply to site

• Delivery and installation of equipment and materials

• Vegetation clearance (we will reinstate the area by planting back any trees and shrubs removed)
