Severn Trent to hold drop-in session ahead of work in Bidford-on-Avon

Friday 19th May

Severn Trent is to hold a community drop-in session for customers in Bidford-on-Avon ahead of work to install brand new water pipes in the village.

To make sure customers in the area continue to receive a high quality and reliable water supply the company will be investing £132,000 to complete the work.

Chris Edge, from Severn Trent, explains: “We’re regularly investing in our network of water pipes to make sure customers have a water supply that they can rely on.

“As a result of two new housing developments being built in the village our contractors, Amey, will be carrying out some checks on our existing pipes and then they’ll be installing the new pipes at the end of next month.”

The investigation work is planned to start on Saturday 3 June on Salford Road and will take around three weeks to complete, with work on the new pipes starting on 26 June.

Customers are now being invited to a community drop-in session at Crawford Memorial Hall on Salford Road from 3pm to 7.30pm on Thursday 25 May to find out more about the project.

Chris continues: “We’re really keen to meet with as many local people and businesses as possible before we start this work to explain the benefits it will have.

“We also want to get thoughts and opinions on our plans from local people to make sure we can minimise disruption to life in the village as much as possible. If everything goes to plan we hope to have completed the project by the end of the year.

“This is a really important piece of work for the village and one that will provide local people with durable water pipes that they can rely on for years to come.”
