Severn Trent to host customer drop-in session ahead of £1.8m Nottingham network upgrade

10th January 2023

Severn Trent is inviting customers in the village of Flintham to learn more about an upcoming £1.8 million project to replace 4.6 km of pipework in the area.

The programme of upgrades will reduce the risk of customer supply interruptions through incidents such as bursts and ensure the network is ready to meet future demands such as population growth and climate change.

The works – which will take place in phases – will begin on 16 January 2023 on Spring Lane, before moving on to Inholms Road/Main Street, Town End Lane and are due to end on Woods Lane by mid-June.

There will be a drop-in session for customers in the area on Thursday 12 January from 15:30 to 18:30 at Flintham Village Hall, Newark, NG23 5LG.

Rebecca Ball, Community Communications Officer at Severn Trent, said: “Being able to speak directly to our customers at drop-in events like these gives a fantastic opportunity for them to ask us questions directly and learn more about the scheme.

“In order to make sure that we keep our teams safe while they deliver this important upgrade, there will be some road closures and temporary traffic lights in place. We understand that roadworks can be really frustrating, and we will be working hard to complete the upgrades and have everything back to normal as quickly as possible.

“We encourage any customers who are able to come along to this event to drop in, meet the team and find out more about the benefits that this programme will bring to the community.”

Access to properties, businesses and buses will be maintained throughout the works, via a signed diversion route.
