Severn Trent to begin water network upgrades in Redditch

Tuesday 26 April 2022

Severn Trent is investing £250,000 in Redditch to replace 1.5km of ageing water pipes, providing customers with improved water quality and reliability for years to come.

Teams will start work on Tuesday 3 May near to the Abbey Stadium along the main road to the roundabout and will complete the project near to property 441 on the Birmingham Road (A441). It will take approximately 17 weeks to complete.

A customer drop-in session about the project will take place on Thursday 28th April at The Abbey Hotel on Dagnell End Road from 4pm until 7pm.

Lisa Orme from Severn Trent, said: “Customers in Redditch deserve a modern water supply that they can rely on. That’s why we’re making this investment to prevent future leaks and bursts.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise any disruption while we’re working in the area. We’d like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding as we get this essential work done as quickly and as safely as possible.

“Our drop-in session is a great chance for customers to ask us any questions about the work and for us to find out more about your area. Feedback from our customers is really important to us – so we’d love to see you there.”

To keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe, appropriate traffic management will be in place throughout the duration of the project.
