Severn Trent to begin £25k project in Worcester improving its water pipes

Friday 25th October 2019

Severn Trent is to begin work next week on a £25,000 investment making essential improvements to its water network in Worcester.

The company will be working on Gillam Street during the half term holidays, and will be replacing valves and making improvements to the water pipes.

Roisin McBain from Severn Trent, said “We want to make sure our network is in the best possible condition, so this essential maintenance work is vital in making sure our customer’s water supply is reliable and always there when they need it. By replacing valves, it means our teams can have better and easier access to the network and can move water around our pipes in times when we need to get water to our customers quickly.”

Severn Trent working partners nmcn will be carrying out work on behalf of the company, and expect all work to be completed within the half term week.

“We know there’s never a good time to do this type of work, so we wanted to do it during half term so we’re causing as little disruption as possible,” adds Roisin. “We will be having to close a section of the road which we’re really sorry about, but it means we’re keeping everyone safe and our teams can complete the work quickly and be out of the way by the end of the week.”
