Severn Trent to begin final phase of essential water pipe improvements in Spondon Village

Friday 24th April 2020

Water and waste company Severn Trent is to begin its final phase of it’s essential water pipe improvements in Spondon.

After completing Phase One and Two, the company will start the final phase of work next week (27 April 2020)  for nine weeks.

Severn Trent worked with Derbyshire City Council to bring this work forward, to take advantage of the current quieter roads, to cause less disruption.

Timothy Ip, Community Officer on the project from Severn Trent said; “It’s really important that everyone continues to have water, and this essential work to upgrade the pipes will help prevent any problems like burst pipes happening, something we really want to avoid.

“It’s as important time as ever to make sure our network is in the best possible condition, so our teams will be starting on the junction of Sitwell Street and Willowcroft Road, and working towards Nottingham Road replacing the older pipes, with new ones.”

Severn Trent contract partners NMCN will be carrying out work on behalf of the company.

“We know these are worrying times for everyone but it’s vital that we ensure that water keeps flowing into people’s homes” adds Tim “We’re really sorry for any inconvenience, but we will be doing what we can to complete the work as quickly, and safely as possible.”
