Severn Trent teams will be on hand over the Christmas holidays

20th December 2023

Severn Trent is reminding customers even though Christmas celebrations are set to go ahead, our experts will be on hand so that we can all ‘weather the winter together’.

The holidays are a time for loved ones, friends and celebrations and we will be doing all we can to make sure that leaks, blockages and burst pipes do not impact that.

Our teams will continue to work 24/7 to help with any issues that may arise and ensure it’s a Happy Christmas for all.

Jodie Bowen, Customer Contact Lead at Severn Trent, will be working on Christmas Day so that if any problems do come up, they will be dealt with: “It may be the holidays, but that doesn’t mean that Severn Trent downs tools and stops. We will be on hand to help with water and sewage issues day and night during the break to make sure that we are looking after everyone’s families, neighbours, friends, and loved ones.”

Teams that will be available include our call centres and field teams ready to fix burst pipes and clear sewer blockages.

For more information during the holidays visit stwater.co.uk, give us a call on our 24/7 emergency line, 0800 783 4444, or tweet us @stwater.

The opening times for the call centre dealing with customer bill enquiries during the festivities is:

·         23rd December – 9am to 3pm

·         24th, 25th and 26th December – Closed

·         27th, 28th and 29th December – 9am to 5pm

·         30th December – 9am to 3pm

·         31st December – Closed

·         1st January – Closed

Online services will be closed just Christmas Day, but will be working very day, except Christmas Day.

Customers can work with us to make some small changes over the winter break and help to keep their homes free of any issues during the holiday.

These include binning cooled fats, oils and greases from the Christmas dinner rather than washing them down the drain, wrapping external pipes to protect them from the cold and reporting any leaks that are spotted.

Jodie added: “If customers work together with us and make some of these small changes, it will have a massive impact on our sewers and networks. Now there is just one more thing to say, Merry Christmas to all our customers and a Happy New Year.”
