Severn Trent begin network upgrade on Thorntons Lane, Southam

Monday 31 January 2022

Severn Trent is set to upgrade the water network on Thorntons Lane as part of a wider £3m investment in Warwickshire.

Work is taking place on Thorntons Lane in Southam, between the junctions of New Street, Folly Lane, and Brook End Farm.

This essential upgrade will replace around 500 meters of ageing water pipes, providing customers with improved water quality and reliability for years to come.

Work began on 30 January and will take approximately 11 weeks to complete.

Shannon Currall from Severn Trent said: “Customers across Warwickshire deserve a modern water supply that they can rely on. That’s why we’re making these investments to benefit the local community for generations to come.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise any disruption while we’re working in the area.”

To keep Severn Trent and other road users safe, a temporary road closure on Thorntons Lane will be in place for the duration of the project. Access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times.
