Severn Trent invites locals to community meeting ahead of next phase of £11m project in Derby

Monday 28th October 2019

Severn Trent is inviting Derby locals to a community meeting ahead of next phase of work in its £11 million investment in the City.

The company has been working to upgrade its water network, meaning those living in Derby can have a reliable water supply for the future.

Severn Trent is now working on the next phase in the Stenson area, and wants to meet the local community to discuss its plans and what benefits it will bring.

Helen Purdy from Severn Trent said: “Our work in Derby has been progressing really well, and we’re really excited to be working on the next phase of work in Stenson.

“The community meeting is the perfect opportunity for us to meet local residents, talk about how we’re going to be doing the work and explain exactly why we’re doing this work now.”

Members from Severn Trent and working partners Amey will be at The Stenson Bubble, Stenson Road, Derby on Wednesday 30 October from 4pm to 6.30pm.

The team will be on hand to answer any questions about the project, how they’ll be working and explain the benefits to those living in Stenson.

“We really hope we see many of the community turn up, as this project is really important to the area,” adds Helen. “It’s essential that we make sure our network is in the best possible condition, as this means less bursts and problems and makes sure that water is always there when our customers need it the most.”
