Severn Trent invests in Preston Bagot’s future with major water network upgrade

25th July 2025

Severn Trent will soon begin a major upgrade to the water network in Preston Bagot as part of a wider investment programme across Warwick.

The essential work will see the water company investing more than £2million to replace aging water pipes to reduce the risk of leaks and bursts, improve reliability, and ensure a resilient water supply for future generations.

The work is expected to take a year to complete and to help residents and businesses learn more about the project and what to expect, Severn Trent is hosting a customer drop-in event on Monday, July 28th

Running between 4pm and 6.30pm, the event will be held at Lowsonford Village Hall, Rockery Lane, Henley-in-Arden, B95 5ER.

Gracie Lazenby, Customer Liaison Officer for Severn Trent, said: “We’re proud to be investing in Preston Bagot’s future as part of our commitment to delivering a reliable and sustainable water supply across Warwick and the wider Midlands. We understand that this kind of work can be disruptive, which is why we’re working closely with local partners and the community to keep everyone informed and supported throughout the project.”

Part of Severn Trent’s multi-million-pound investment in the Midlands, aimed at modernising infrastructure and supporting growing communities, The plan is to begin at the Pinley Green junction on Monday, August 11th, 2025.

It will progress through several key routes in the area, including Holly Head Farm, Holywell, and High Cross/Back Lane, with a rolling road closure in place to manage traffic safely and efficiently.

A second phase of work will follow, covering roads such as Back Lane, Lapworth Street, and Henley Road with the whole works taking around a year to complete.

Gracie added: “We would encourage everyone to come along as it’s a chance to speak directly to the team, find out more about the project and ask questions that they may have as well as finding out more about how Severn Trent can support them during the works.

“We’ll also be posting regular updates onto our Nextdoor app, so we would urge everyone to make sure they have the app downloaded to stay up to date with our progress.”
