Severn Trent due to begin water network upgrades in Washwood Heath

Wednesday 26 January 2022

Severn Trent is investing £400,000 in Washwood Heath to provide customers with improved water quality and reliability for years to come.

The water and waste company will be working in the Leigh Road area of Washwood Heath, replacing over 1.3km of ageing water pipes.

Work is due to begin on 24 January and will be completed by the end of May.

To keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe, temporary traffic lights and road closures will be in place throughout the duration of the project. The roads affected will be Common Lane, Warren Road, Leigh Road and Washwood Heath Road. Access to properties, businesses and pedestrians will be maintained.

Janine Billington from Severn Trent said: “Customers across Washwood Heath deserve a modern water supply that they can rely on. That’s why we’re making this investment, which will benefit the local community for generations to come.

“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused by this essential work, and we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding. We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise any disruption while we’re working in the area.”
