Severn Trent continues to offer customers lowest average bills in the country

1st February 2017

Severn Trent’s 4.3 million customers across the Midlands and mid-Wales will pay less than £1 a day for all of their clean and waste water services for 2017/18.

The new combined bill remains the lowest in the country.

Liv Garfield, Seven Trent Chief Executive, said: “For less than a pound a day, we supply our customers with 75 million litres of water every hour of every day, and take away 32,000 litres of waste water every second.

“We’ve also been able to reduce external sewer floodings by 9% year-on-year, and we’ve trebled the number of vulnerable customers supported. And we’re proud of our performance on customer complaints, achieving the largest reduction in complaints in 2015/16 of all water and sewerage companies.

“Alongside that, we’re making very good progress on the Birmingham Resilience Project, which is our biggest ever scheme, and have started work on the £60m Newark scheme which is designed to protect hundreds of customers.

“In addition, we’ve taken on board record numbers of graduates and apprentices to help us build not only tomorrow’s assets but also tomorrow’s engineers because we’re always aware of the legacy that we’re both protecting and building for the future.”
