Budding photographers and Instragammers are being encouraged to get snappy at Severn Trent’s visitor sites this winter, as the company launches an Instagram competition.

The company is asking people to send in pictures from its visitor sites over December to be in with a chance of winning some great prizes.With reservoirs in Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Leicestershire and in the Peak District, Severn Trent has a place for everybody to get creative on a wonderful winter day out.

Dominic Robinson, Visitor Experience Lead at Severn Trent, said: “If you love photography and days out, then this is the perfect competition for you.“We’re looking for pictures of wildlife in its natural habitat or people on site taking part in the many activities we have on offer, such as walking, cycling, fishing or even building a snowman.

“The only rule is, all photos should feature the water, as we want our wonderful water to be at the heart of every photo we have. So bring your phone or camera to one of our sites, get snapping and upload your best magical winter moments to win some cracking prizes.”

Severn Trent is running the competition from Friday 7th December to Sunday 6th January across nine of its visitor sites, which include: Draycote Water, Carsington Water, Foremark, Linacre, Staunton Harold, Tittesworth Water, Shustoke, Thornton and Trimpley.

“There’s always plenty to do and see across all our visitor sites,” adds Dominic. “Whether it’s wrapping up warm and going for a cosy crisp winter walk, having a hot cuppa and a snack in our on-site cafés, or maybe even something more adventurous like a bike ride or water sports or fishing – there’s definitely plenty for everyone and loads of great photo opportunities to pick from.”

The winner of the competition will win a winter pack containing over £200 of Waitrose and John Lewis goodies including a £150 voucher to spend in store or online. Five runners up will also be chosen to win a £20 voucher.

The competition is open to everyone with an Instagram account. Once you’ve taken your photos all you need to do is:

• Follow us on Instagram @severntrent

• Upload your photos with the two hashtags: #STwonderfulwater and  #STwinterdaysout

• Tag us @severntrent and pop the name of the site you visited in the description 

The winning photos will be chosen by professional landscape photographer and keen Instagrammer James John Edward.
