Severn Trent is set to return with its Big Boost for Leicester event to connect people with employment opportunities, live vacancies and hands on support.  

The event will be returning to Leicester Tigers Stadium on Wednesday, March 25^th bringing more than 35 employers and training organisations together under one roof, offering access to over 200 live roles. 

Running from 10am to 2pm, with a quiet hour from 1pm to 2pm, visitors will have the chance to meet major employers including Caterpillar Inc, Kier Group, NEXT, Fosse Park, Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council and Leicestershire Police. 

There will also be a wide range of training and skills providers offering pathways into new careers.  

Severn Trent’s recruitment team will once again be there on the day, speaking about all our live roles in Leicester. At last year’s event, five attendees progressed through assessments and were hired as Water Specialists after being first spoken to at the Big Boost event. Having that first conversation in person can make a difference. 

The day is designed to go beyond a traditional jobs fair, providing the tools, confidence and support people need to take their next steps.  

Attendees will be able to access live CV writing sessions for personalised feedback, take part in interview practice using VR headsets, join workshops on interview preparation and first impressions, and speak directly with Severn Trent’s affordability team for advice on billing support.

“Last year’s event showed just how powerful it can be when employers, trainers and the community come together, and we’re excited to return with even more partners, more roles and more support.” 

The Big Boost forms part of Severn Trent’s wider commitment to Leicester. Alongside ongoing smart meter rollouts and affordability programmes already helping households with their water bills, the company is expanding its support for employability to help more people move confidently into work and progress within their careers. 

Workshops and presentations will run throughout the day, beginning with interview preparation at 11am, followed by CV top tips at 11.45am, and a second interview preparation session at 12.30pm. 

The event is open to everyone, whether they are entering the workforce for the first time or exploring a new direction.
