Severn Trent begins water network upgrades in Hinckley

Monday 7 February 2022

Severn Trent is investing over £300,000 in Hinckley to replace nearly three kilometres of ageing water pipes, providing customers with improved water quality and reliability for years to come.

Work started at the junction of Church Street and Lychgate Lane last week. Teams will work their way along Lychgate Lane and finishing on Hinckley Road by the end of July.

Lisa Orme from Severn Trent, said: “Customers in Hinckley deserve a modern water supply that they can rely on. That’s why we’re making this investment, which will benefit the local community for generations to come.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise any disruption while we’re working in the area. We’d like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding as we get this essential work done.”

To keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe, temporary traffic lights and road closures will be in place at times throughout the project.
