Severn Trent begins major network upgrade in Aston Cantlow

Thursday 2nd September 2021

Severn Trent will begin essential work to upgrade the waste network in Aston Cantlow, Warwickshire this week.

The water and waste company is investing £750,000 to replace around two kilometres of ageing sewer pipes with brand-new ones across the Warwickshire village, to provide local residents with a new and improved network that will last for generations.

The project begins this week on private land at Walcote. Engineers will then move onto the crossroads of Mill Lane and Pelham Lane. The project is expected to take four months to complete.

To keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe, temporary traffic lights and road closures will be in place at different phases throughout the project. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Lisa Orme from Severn Trent, said: “We want to make sure customers in Aston Cantlow have a modern and reliable waste network for years to come. That’s why we’re investing £750,000 in the area, to replace around two kilometres of ageing sewer pipes with brand new ones.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise the disruption and we’d like to thank everyone in advance for their patience as we get this essential work done.”
