Severn Trent begins essential upgrades in Quedgeley this week

Tuesday 12th May 2020

Severn Trent will begin essential work to upgrade water pipes in Quedgeley this week.

The water company is replacing almost two kilometres of aging water pipes with brand new ones along Elmore Road, to help reduce the amount of leaks and bursts in the area.

The six-week project began on Monday 11th May and includes plans for a temporary road closure from the junction of Haywicks Lane to the junction of Elmore Lane West to keep everyone safe.

Roisin McBain from Severn Trent, said: “We know it’s a challenging time for everyone right now but making sure our customers have a reliable water supply is as vital now as it’s ever been. That’s why you’ll see our teams out and about over the next six weeks or so, carrying out these essential upgrades.

“To carry out the work safely, we’ll need to put a six-week road closure in place along a section of Elmore Road, which we understand will cause some frustration.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise the disruption and we’d like to thank everyone in advance, for their patience as we get this essential work done.”
