Public invited to drop-in session ahead of Tanworth-in-Arden water mains work

4th December 2018

Water company Severn Trent is inviting customers in Tanworth-in-Arden to a community drop-in session to hear about a water main renewal project which begins in January.

As part of a £100,000 investment, the company is upgrading 1km of pipes on Doctor’s Hill and some surrounding roads and wants to meet with local people to talk through the details.

The work, which will start on 7 January, will last until May and will see a road closure in place.

Gareth Mead from Severn Trent, said: “We want our customers in and around Tanworth-in-Arden to have a water supply they can rely on for many years to come. This is an important project with great benefits so we want to explain to local people exactly what we're doing, the timescales, and the safety reasons for closing the road.

"We look forward to seeing as many people as possible at the event where we'll be on hand to answer any questions or concerns."

The team from Severn Trent, which includes partners Amey, will be at The Village Hall in Tanworth on Tuesday 18 December between 15:30 and 18:30.

The Tanworth-in-Arden scheme forms part of Severn Trent’s commitment to investing in its infrastructure which will see the equivalent of £1,400 invested for every home and business it serves between 2015 and 2020.
