Severn Trent has thanked customers in Bakewell for their continued patience throughout the past two months, after a major project to upgrade the water network comes to an end.

The water company has finished installing 2km of brand-new water pipes in the Derbyshire town, delivering on its commitment to complete the scheme by the end of March.

Severn Trent has invested £260,000 to provide the area with a more resilient water supply, serving customers with wonderful water for years to come.

Lisa Orme, from Severn Trent, said: “We’d like to thank everyone in Bakewell for their continued patience and understanding during the past two months, while we’ve been working in the area to upgrade the town’s water network.

“We know it’s still a challenging time for many people, but now the town has a reliable water supply that’ll benefit this community for years to come.”

Lisa added: “We’re delighted that we’ve been able to keep our promise and get everything done by the end of March. We started work back in February and since then, we’ve invested £260,000 to replace 2km of aging water pipes with brand new ones across the town.”
