Nottingham residents to benefit from upcoming £600,000 Severn Trent network improvements

22nd August 2023

Severn Trent is preparing to start a project that will see the upgrade of over 2km of water pipes along the A52 near Nottingham. The £600,000 scheme will see new pipework laid to improve water quality and ensure a more resilient network.

Work will start on Monday 28th August and is expected to be completed by the end of October. The project is part of more than £20 million which is being invested in Nottinghamshire to improve the local water network.

Rebecca Ball, Community Communications Officer at Severn Trent, said: “By proactively upgrading our network, we’re able to replace aging pipes which are more prone to things like leaks and bursts and ensure a more secure water supply for our customers. Our teams will be working hard to get these upgrades made and everything back to normal as quickly as possible.”

The A52 will remain open to traffic throughout the works, however lanes on the road will be narrowed around the working area for the safety of the teams working and road users.

Rebecca added: “We know that roadworks can be frustrating and inconvenient, and we’d like to apologise for any disruption while we make these important upgrades.”
