Etruria residents invited to hear more about upcoming wastewater improvements

9th January 2023

Residents in Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent, are being invited to a public drop-in event where they can learn more about an upcoming £17 million programme of works.

Staff from Severn Trent will be on hand during the event to answer questions and talk through the plans, which will see significant improvements made to the wastewater network in the area, increasing its capacity which will help to protect river health.

The drop-in will be held on Wednesday 10th January from 2pm to 6pm at Etruria Industrial Museum, Etruria Vale Rd, Stoke-on-Trent ST1 4RB.

Kay Gill, Community Communications Officer at Severn Trent, said: “By expanding the capacity of the wastewater network, we can be sure that it’s able to meet the demands from both climate change and a growing population, and will help to protect the natural environment when there are storms or heavy rainfall.

“This drop-in session is a fantastic way for people to learn more about the works.  We’ll be able to provide more information on how they might impact the community and what the site will look like during this construction phase. Please come along and meet our team and find out more about the project, we’d love to speak with you.”

Severn Trent has already completed preliminary site investigation work and is on track to start work in February 2024.
