Tuesday 17th September 2025

Severn Trent is continuing its major investment programme in Stoke-on-Trent, aimed at securing a reliable water supply for generations to come and will host its next drop-in event.

More than £25 million is being invested into the replacement of ageing water pipes in the Hanley, Sneyd Green, and Burslem areas which is helping to improve the infrastructure for customers.

The project has gone ahead to address the issues of a number of bursts and leaks sees 40km of water pipes replaced by April 2027 and work is progressing well, with more than 14km of new pipes installed.

To make sure that the local community are kept informed, Severn Trent is hosting another drop-in session. The event will be taking place at The Bridge Centre on Birches Head Road, Stoke-on-Trent, ST2 8DD on Wednesday, September 24.

Running between 3pm and 7pm, this is an opportunity for customers to meet the team, ask questions, and share feedback about their local area.

Charlene Richards, Severn Trent Community Communications Officer, said: "We know how important a reliable water supply is to our customers, and that’s why we’re investing in these essential upgrades.

“We’re pleased with the progress of the project so far and grateful for the patience and support shown by the local community. We know that it can be an inconvenience to have this work happening near you, but please be assured that we, along with our contractor partners Pipeline Utilities and McAndrew Utilities will do everything we can to minimise any disruption.

“The latest drop-in session is a great chance for us to hear directly from residents and listen to their feedback, provide updates on how our work is going and answer any questions people may have."
