Severn Trent begins major network upgrade in Nottinghamshire village

Friday 5th November 2021

Severn Trent has kicked off a major project to upgrade the waste network in Aslockton, providing local residents with a modern and reliable service that will last for generations.

The water and waste company is investing over £500,000 to replace around two kilometres of ageing sewer pipes with brand-new ones across the Nottinghamshire village.

The project began this week, as engineers work between Aslockton sewage treatment works on Moor Lane and Aslockton pumping station on Noble Lane. The project is expected to take 16 weeks to complete.

Lisa Orme from Severn Trent, said: “We want to make sure customers in Aslockton have a modern and reliable waste network for years to come. That’s why we’re investing £500,000 in the area, to replace around two kilometres of ageing sewer pipes with brand new ones.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to minimise the disruption and we’d like to thank everyone in advance for their patience as we get this essential work done.”

To keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe, temporary traffic lights will be put in place at the New Lane junction, as well as a temporary road closure along a section of Abbey Road.

A diversion will be in place and access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
