Supporting rural communities
For over 10 years our catchment management programme, Farming for Water, has been making a real difference across our region.
By working hand-in-hand with farmers, we deliver tailored environmental solutions designed to safeguard both river ecosystems and the quality of your drinking water.
At Severn Trent, we pride ourselves on taking a pioneering approach to catchment and land management. With over 5,000 farmers engaged and more than 2,500 grants awarded, our work is built on strong, trust-based relationships. We collaborate closely with agricultural partners, stakeholders, farmers, landowners, estate managers, and many others to achieve our goals.
No other water company matches our scale of partnership with the agricultural community, making us truly unique in this field.
Empowering local farmers
Through our popular STEPs scheme, we offer grants that empower farmers to carry out projects delivering tangible water quality improvements. The scheme is available exclusively to farmers in our priority catchments. Now and in the coming years we are eager to continue expanding our reach and to provide support to both farmers we have worked with before and those we haven’t.
If you would like further information about the Farming for Water programme or the STEPs scheme, please get in touch with your local Agricultural Advisor. Together, we can make a lasting positive impact on water quality, our rivers and our communities.
