Volunteer with us!

Our volunteers are an important part of what makes our sites so special for our communities- from the hedges you see on your walks to the bird boxes that are a magnet for our wonderful wildlife, special events and walks and lots more, our volunteers have helped to shape our visitor sites into the truly amazing places that they are today!

If you fancy spending a day a week with like-minded people, learning new skills and making a difference then we’d love to hear from you……if you can’t commit to every week we’d still love to hear from you.

A bit more info…

Our regular volunteer sessions take place on Tuesdays, usually between 9:30am and 3pm *Lake Vyrnwy's group meet on different days including some weekends. You can join one of these sessions at any of our bigger sites- Carsington Water, Tittesworth Water, Draycote Water, Upper Derwent Valley or at our Hafren Dyfrdwy site; Lake Vyrnwy.

If you just want to come along to try a session or want more information then get in touch with the site you are interested in volunteering at and one of our Rangers will be happy to help. We sometimes have one off sessions on our smaller local visitor sites so get in touch with us at visitorsites@severntrent.co.uk if you’d be interested in joining one of these sessions.

No one day will be the same!

We know variety is the spice of life…….and this is very true when it comes to the tasks you will learn along the way. From traditional hedge laying to bird box making, coppicing to tree planting- there are so many things that our volunteers work with our Rangers on. You might even want to support at one of our family fun days or cinema events- the opportunities are endless!

Things you could get involved with...

You will be trained and supported by our Rangers and other volunteers along the way so don’t worry if you don’t feel like you have the skills…….as long you have the enthusiasm you will be welcomed into our team!

What’s in it for you?

From chatting to our volunteers we know that they love volunteering at our sites for a variety of reasons- they get to learn new skills, get out in the fresh air, meet like-minded people and have a great day socially!

  • Every year you will have a summer social and Christmas meal.*

  • You will be given an annual parking pass which will allow you to park at our sites.*
