Severn Trent kicks off project in Bishops Tachbrook as part of £3m investment in Warks

Wednesday 10th March 2021

Severn Trent will begin essential work to upgrade water pipes in Bishops Tachbrook next week (Mon 15th March).

The water company is replacing almost one kilometre of aging water pipes with brand new ones along Mallory Road onto Church Hill, to help reduce the amount of leaks and bursts in the area.

The work is part of a wider £3m investment the company is making across Warwickshire, where it is replacing over 15km of pipes.

Shannon Currall from Severn Trent, said: “We know it’s still a difficult time for a lot of people right now, but making sure that our customers have a reliable supply of water is as important as ever during this time.

“This work will see us making sure our network is in the best possible condition, so everyone in the area will be able to enjoy a reliable water supply, as there’s less risk of pipes bursting or causing problems.”

Severn Trent working partners Kier will be carrying out work on behalf of the company, that is expected to take five months to complete. The project begins on Monday 15 March 2021 and includes plans for a temporary road closure on Mallory Road, in order to keep everyone safe.

“Our teams on site will be doing all that they can to minimise the disruption to the community, and we would like to thank everyone in advance, for both their patience and understanding,” adds Shannon. “When complete, those living in the area will benefit from a reliable network, that will serve the community for years to come.”
