Severn Trent invites community to hear all about new pipes for Redmile

Friday 30 December 2022

Severn Trent is inviting locals of the village of Redmile to a community drop in session, ahead of work starting on a project to replace aging water pipes in the area.

The company is replacing the pipes on Main Road, and will be working in sections towards Sutton Road and wants to meet with the community to explain how it will be working, and what to expected throughput the work.

Rebecca Ball, community communications officer said: “Projects like this are vital in making sure our customers have a water supply they can rely on. The older pipes get, the more likely they are to burst and cause problems, so we want to make sure the network is in the best possible condition for our customers.

“Before we start though, we’re holding a community session to meet with those living in and around the area, so we can share how we will be working and what people can expected for the duration of the project and it’s benefits.”

Severn Trent and contract partners Network Plus will be at St Peters Church in Redmile, Nottingham NG13 0GB from 3:30pm until 6.30pm on Thursday 5 January 2023.

Severn Trent will then be looking to start work in Redmile the following week, on the 9th January and is expected to be completed by the end of April.

“It’d be great to meet as many locals as possible, as after all they will be the ones benefiting from this project and we’d love to hear any feedback and share with them how we’re going to be working in Redmile, and what to expect in the New Year,” adds Rebecca.
