Severn Trent complete £1.5m water pipe work in Oakham

Thursday 15th February

Severn Trent has completed its £1.5m project to replace water pipes in Oakham, providing local people with a reliable supply of water for the future.

The company has replaced almost 3km of pipes in the town in the last year to help prevent leaks and bursts and to improve the quality of drinking water.

Mike Holder, who led the project, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to the people of Oakham for their patience while we completed this work.

“We know it’s never ideal to work through a town centre but these new pipes will have so many great benefits to people in the town in the years ahead.

“It’s so important for people to have access to water whenever they need it and that’s why this work was essential to protect water supplies for many years to come.

“The people of Oakham have been extremely accommodating and we’ve had some really positive comments about the project, so once again we’d like to say thank you.”
