Renewable energy

As the second largest water and waste water utility company in the UK we require lots of energy to run our offices and operations.

What is renewable energy?

Renewable energy is energy that is not produced from fossil fuels such as oil, coal or natural gases. Reducing our need for fossil fuels makes us more sustainable as a business and secures the future of your water supply.

Severn Trent already generates the equivalent of 53% of our own energy use from renewable sources. This energy is used at Severn Trent Water sites or exported to the national grid. We're currently researching, investigating, and working on new projects to use a variety of renewable technologies. You can find out more below.
