ITV two part documentary: Sewer Men
“Sometimes it does turn your stomach a little bit. It’s the fat that’s the worst, rather than the pony. Pony - yeah, another word for the poo. It’s just a nice word in front of the customers.” - Mark Davies, Sewer Jetter
You need a strong stomach and a good sense of humour to tackle our region's sewers...
Cleaning up billions of litres of raw sewage every day means we have a dirty stinking job on our hands, but our sewer men superstarts take it all in their stride.
Sewer Men is an ITV two-part documentary series that follows our waste water workers as they unblock toilets and drains and go waist-deep in to blocked sewers clogged with wet wipes and fatbergs.
Filmed over three months last summer, during Britain’s biggest heatwave for years – the two part documentary gives an insight of life in the murky sewers, as well as a look into the emergency provision of water during in high demand.
