Culver Hill (between ‘St Loe’s House’ and ‘Amberley Inn’)

We have laid the new water main in Culver Hill from A46 up to the cattle grid but we have unfortunately not been able to open this section to vehicles, as we originally planned, because of technical issues with installing the main from the highway into the adjacent field. This connection will be completed, the area reinstated and the road swept by 2 November 2018. Although, this first section will then be open to vehicles, there will be restricted access near the bottom of the Culver Hill. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. We apologise for this delay and any inconvenience caused. We apologise for this delay and any inconvenience caused. We have started work in the second section and as we have progressed along Culver Hill ground conditions have become more challenging than expected and this has resulted in slower progress than programmed. As a result, we anticipate we will complete the installation of the new water main, just south of The Amberley Inn, by 14 December 2018. The plan on the rear shows the new sequence of the planned works. We will try and maintain vehicle access to your property, but there may be occasions when vehicle access to your property, is restricted We have started work in the second section and as we have progressed along Culver Hill ground conditions have become more challenging than expected and this has resulted in slower progress Archaeology investigation is taking place in the local fields over the coming weeks.
