In My Area

Saffron Road

We're carrying out water pipe improvements across Leicestershire to secure water supplies for the future. This scheme is part of the ongoing improvements to the water network across Leicestershire between now and Summer 2020.

Our progress so far

UPCOMING - 13 JUL 2020

Lane closure

We’ll need to close the southbound lane of Saffron Road from the Dorset Avenue junction to the railway bridge. There will be a signposted diversion in place using the B5418 and the B582 (Blaby Road) as a route around the working areas, so please check your route before travelling. If you are travelling northbound towards Leicester City then your route will remain unaffected.

Roads affected:

Saffron Road (southbound lane)

Start date

Upcoming work

The work will start week commencing 13 July 2020 and is expected to be completed by the end of August 2020.

Our team will start near the railway bridge on Saffron Road and will progress towards the city, finishing at the junction of Gloucester Crescent.

Due to the location of the water pipes and to ensure the safety of you and our team, we’ll need to close the southbound lane of Saffron Road from the Dorset Avenue junction to the railway bridge.
