Work in progress

We recently informed you about works that were due to commence from Monday 26 March 2018, to replace the existing water mains along parts of the road leading towards Aberhosan, unfortunately, due to matters beyond our control, these works will now have to be postponed. We will further notify you once we have a revised date for this work to commence. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Work completed

We're currently working to install new water pipes under the local brook and making final connections into the recently installed water mains. We've recently notified local residents of Aberhosan about our plans to complete the remaining water mains installation works along sections of the road and adjacent private land in places heading towards the village. This work will happen from week commencing Monday 26 March, we kindly ask that residents bear with us during this phase as access will be restricted at times along the road to allow for this work to be completed safely.

Tal-y-Wern (Commins Coch)

We've now installed all of the pipework to the Chapel and are at this moment reinstating. We'll be going to close the road from the chapel at Melinbyrheden for approximately 40m towards Tal-y-wern so that the drainage issue can be resolved.

The last phase of this work will then take place along parts of the road and private land through the village of Aberhosan, this phase will take around four to five weeks to complete and will begin 12 February 2018.

Our team are continuing to experience challenges ground conditions in Melin – Byrhedyn as works continue to cross the brook. We've been working closely with Powys County Council and their drainage team and will need to undertake urgent works to re-position parts of the recently installed water main along a short section of road leading between Tal-y-wern and Melin – Byrhedyn, this will assist with the repair of sections of the surface water drainage within this area. This will mean that our previous road closure between Tal-y-wern and Melin – Byrhedyn will be re-installed for a short duration from week commencing Monday 12 February, this will allow our teams to complete this work safely and effectively. During the road closure, alternative access will be available via a sign posted diversion route.

Works have progressed well this week and on programme, we're working on the road closure section towards Melin-Byrhedyn and also to the junction of Aberhosan, we apologise for any delays this work may cause

Phase two - Tal-y-Wern

This phase of the project between Tal-y-Wern and Melin-Byrhedyn is nearing completion and we expect to have this road closure lifted by 11 July 2017. Although delays are not expected, please allow time for your journey when using the diversion route in place. This will take approximate nine-ten weeks to complete.

Phase one - Darowen

We'll be starting our work on phase one of the project laying water pipes in the Darowen area. The majority of the work will take place on private land, with sections of the work entering parts of the road.

Phase three - Darowen and Tal-y-Wern

The ongoing water main replacement work between Darowen and Tal y wern are progressing ahead of schedule, local access is being maintained for residents where possible. We kindly ask that you allow extra time for your journey if using this route.
